Slow, small and completely yours. Your home goes wherever you do, and the world comes right up to the window.

Wake up on the water
Mist on the canal, birds at the window and the kettle on the stove. Nowhere you have to be.
Daytime
Take your home with you
Untie the ropes and drift off at walking pace. Moor up wherever looks nice and see who's about.
Evening
Lamps on, feet up
The sun goes down behind the trees, the lamps come on and every window glows.
Night
Rain on the roof
Rain tapping overhead, the stove ticking over, and a cat asleep on the armchair.

The story

Nobody has come up this canal in five years. The gates are shut, the islands have gone wild and the few neighbours left keep to themselves. Then your boat comes round the bend.

What you'll do

Make her yours. Pick her length, her roof and her colours, then fill her with armchairs, lamps and string lights from Bess's shop until she feels like home.

Has been sending letters in bottles for years. Yours is the first boat to answer.

Will make your boat longer or shorter, or give her a whole new roof. Just bring her to the yard.

Shopkeeper
Runs a shop on her own boat: furniture, paint, and all the gossip on the canal.

Tree nursery
Grows saplings and seeds for every island that wants its trees back.

Wildflower Meadow
Writes letters she can't post, and keeps an eye on an old pear tree.

Mushroom Hollow
Knows every toadstool on the island by name, and most of the frogs.
